Entebbe UPPC Close In on Permanent Deal for URA Midfielder
URA FC midfielder Laban Tibita is set to complete a permanent move to Uganda Premier League side Entebbe UPPC.
Tibita joined the Bugonga-based club on loan midway through the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League season, and according to reports from Kawowo Sports, discussions are ongoing for the move to be made permanent.
The midfielder signed a contract extension with URA FC in 2025 that was due to keep him at the club until 2027.
However, following the appointment of head coach Hussein Mbalangu, Tibita found playing opportunities limited, prompting his loan switch to Entebbe UPPC.
With one year remaining on his contract at URA FC, the Tax Collectors are reluctant to risk losing him on a free transfer next year. As a result, negotiations between the two clubs are underway to secure a permanent transfer.
Since joining Entebbe UPPC, Tibita has enjoyed regular playing time and established himself as an important member of the squad.
It is understood that the midfielder has settled well at the club and is keen to continue his stay beyond the loan spell.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that URA FC could part ways with head coach Hussein Mbalangu ahead of the new season and appoint a new manager.
However, despite the expected changes at the club, Tibita is believed to favour a permanent move to Entebbe UPPC.
