European Club Scouts Monitor Allan Okello Ahead of Potential Transfer
Uganda Cranes star Allan Okello is reportedly being monitored by Turkish giants Fenerbahçe following his impressive performances for Young Africans SC.
According to sports journalist Ronnie Santos, Fenerbahçe sent scouts to Tanzania to assess Okello and compile a report ahead of a possible transfer move.
The scouts have reportedly spent over four days in Tanzania monitoring the Ugandan midfielder.
In the only match they have watched so far, Okello delivered a standout performance, scoring a brace and providing an assist in Young Africans SC’s 3-0 victory over Coastal Union.
Reports indicate that Young Africans SC could receive up to USD 3 million should the deal materialise.
Okello joined Young Africans SC at the start of this year from Vipers SC and has already registered five goals and six assists in 16 league appearances.
The left-footed attacker has been in outstanding form, contributing four goals and eight assists in his last nine matches across all competitions.
The Fenerbahçe scouts are expected to continue monitoring Okello when Young Africans SC face Dodoma Jiji FC on Wednesday, May 13.
Fenerbahçe have already secured a place in the UEFA Champions League qualification playoffs after sealing second place in the Turkish league. Should they qualify for the competition and complete the signing of Okello, the Ugandan midfielder could feature in the UEFA Champions League next season.
Fenerbahçe are regarded as one of Turkey’s most successful and widely supported clubs, boasting more than 30 major titles.
The club is also home to several high-profile players, including World Cup winner N’Golo Kanté, former Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson Moraes, and former Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio, among others.
