Three former FUFA Women’s Cup winners have been eliminated from this year’s competition as the quarterfinal line-up was confirmed following the completion of the Round of 16 fixtures.
Former winners Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC, Makerere University WFC, and She Corporate FC all bowed out of the tournament, ending their hopes of lifting the trophy this season.
The 2023 champions, Uganda Martyrs, suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC in Kawempe.
Former Uganda Martyrs captain Latifah Nakasi scored the decisive goal to send the league champions into the quarterfinals.
Makerere University, winners of the competition in 2019, were eliminated at home after a 2-1 defeat to She Maroons FC.
Kauthara Naluyima and Lillian Mutuuzo found the back of the net for She Maroons to secure a place in the last eight at the expense of the university side.

Meanwhile, the 2024 winners She Corporate FC were knocked out by FUFA Women Elite League side Wakiso Hill WFC following a dramatic penalty shootout.
The two teams played to a 2-2 draw in normal time, with Nayonjo Jeridah and Judith Mawuwa scoring for Wakiso Hill, while Lukiya Namubiru and Sandra Kisakye were on target for She Corporate.
Wakiso Hill eventually prevailed 4-3 in the shootout to book their place in the quarterfinals and end She Corporate’s hopes of defending the title.
Having also missed out on the FUFA Women Super League title on the final day of the season, She Corporate finish the campaign without silverware.
Elsewhere, St Noa Girls FC comfortably defeated Regional League side Dream Girls FC 4-0 at Wankulukuku to advance to the quarterfinals.
Defending champions Amus College WFC kept their title defence alive after twice coming from behind to force a 2-2 draw against URA Ladies FC before winning 4-1 in the penalty shootout.

Lady Doves FC secured a 3-1 away victory over Sheema Girls FC, while Kampala Queens FC cruised to a 4-1 win over She Kasese FC at Lugogo.
In Mukono, UCU Lady Cardinals defeated BUL Women FC 3-1 to complete the list of quarterfinalists.
The eight teams that have qualified for the quarterfinals will return to action this weekend, with the winners progressing to the semifinals.
Quarterfinalists: Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, Kampala Queens FC, Amus College WFC, She Maroons FC, Lady Doves FC, UCU Lady Cardinals, Wakiso Hill WFC, and St Noa Girls FC.
