Gavin Kizito Joins Nairobi United After KCCA Exit
Uganda Cranes defender Gavin Kizito Mugweri has completed his move to Kenyan Premier League side Nairobi United FC.
The right-back was officially unveiled on Friday afternoon as the club’s latest signing.
“Welcome to Nairobi United, Gavin Kizito Mugweri! The Ugandan Cranes international and former U-20 AFCON finalist captain arrives to bolster our defence. Operating at both centre-back and right-back. ONE CITY. ONE DREAM. ONE CHAMPION,” the club confirmed through its official social media platforms.
Kizito joins Nairobi United as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with KCCA FC, whom he joined in September 2024.
Before moving to KCCA, the versatile defender featured for SC Villa, where he played a key role in the club’s successful 2023/24 Uganda Premier League title-winning campaign.
At Nairobi United, Kizito joins fellow Ugandans, including left-back Mustafa Kizza, Charles Waibi and midfielder Titus Ssematimba, who are already at the club.
Kizito’s new club is also reportedly close to completing the signing of Ugandan striker Muhammad Shaban, with only the official unveiling remaining.
The 24-year-old defender has previously featured for SC Villa, Al-Ittihad and Vipers SC JT.
