John Paul Dembe Set for Uganda Premier League Surprise Move
Uganda Premier League giants KCCA FC have opened negotiations with striker John Paul Dembe over a potential return to the club.
This website understands that the player’s representatives have already held discussions with the Kasasiro Boys, who are keen on bringing the forward back to Lugogo.
KCCA are reportedly offering Dembe a two-year employment contract as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
The 21-year old striker left KCCA FC in 2023 to join Swedish side BK Häcken, where he enjoyed a successful spell.
During the 2024/25 season, he helped the club win the Swedish Cup after BK Häcken defeated Malmö FF in the final on penalties.
In 2026, the striker completed a move to Czech Republic outfit SK Sigma Olomouc before returning to Uganda for the off-season break.
During his holiday, Dembe was formally introduced by his girlfriend in a traditional marriage ceremony.
According to reports, the forward is considering spending more time with his family in Uganda before making another move to Europe, a situation that could pave the way for a return to KCCA FC.
Dembe rose through Uganda’s grassroots football system and has previously represented the country at both the Uganda Cubs (U-17) and Uganda Hippos (U-20) levels.
KCCA have already strengthened their squad with the signings of midfielder Elvis Ngonde, striker Charles Lwanga and defender Maxwell Owachgiu.
The club has also extended defender Hassan Muhamud’s contract by one year until 2027, while midfielder Yunus Sibira has successfully completed his medical and is expected to be officially unveiled soon.
KCCA are expected to make additional signings as they continue rebuilding their squad in a bid to end an eight-year wait for major silverware.
