KCCA FC Acquires 30% Stake in Kampala Queens

Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) has acquired a 30% stake in Kampala Queens, marking a significant development in the growth and professionalisation of women’s football in Uganda.

The development follows a renewed agreement between KCCA FC and Kampala Queens, under which the Uganda Premier League side will hold a 30% stake in the women’s club for an initial period of one year. The agreement could pave the way for KCCA FC to acquire a larger share in the future.

Under the new arrangement, Kampala Queens will be rebranded as Kampala Capital City Authority Women’s Club (KCCA Women). KCCA FC will play a role in the club’s structural, commercial and technical operations, while the women’s team will also adopt the KCCA identity and club colours.

The partnership is expected to strengthen the club’s financial and administrative structures while creating greater opportunities for player development, technical growth and improved competitiveness in both domestic and continental women’s football.

Kampala Queens were founded in 2016 after taking over the former Ghaddafi Integrated Academy. Since then, the club has established itself as one of Uganda’s leading women’s football sides.

The club has won three major trophies, including two FUFA Women Super League titles in the 2022/23 and 2024/25 seasons, as well as the FUFA Women’s Cup in 2026.

The new partnership with KCCA FC could therefore mark a significant turning point for Kampala Queens, with expectations that the club will continue to grow and establish itself as an even stronger force in Ugandan women’s football.
