Kyadondo SS have eliminated defending champions Buddo SS to storm the semifinals of the 2026 USSSA football championship.

In the game played at Lira Town College Playground, Edema Bashir scored the all-important goal as Kyadondo secured a narrow 1-0 victory to reach the last four.

It should be noted that Kyadondo reached the quarterfinals in the previous edition before being eliminated by Bukedea Comprehensive, but this time they have gone a step further.

Buddo goalkeeper Edirisa Waibi fouled Joseph Jude Kakooza inside the penalty area, and the referee pointed to the spot.

Edema Bashir stepped up and calmly converted the penalty, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to give Kyadondo the lead.

The defending champions pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, but Kyadondo defended resolutely to hold onto their 1-0 advantage until the final whistle.

Kyadondo SS will now face either Amus College or London College Nansana in the semifinals.

Elsewhere in the quarterfinals, Amus College take on London College Nansana, Bukedea Comprehensive face Masaka SS, while St Mary’s Kitende play Numassa SS.
