Maroons Ease Past Police to Secure Convincing Win at Wankulukuku

Maroons FC secured a comfortable 3-1 victory over Police FC in a Uganda Premier League match played on Saturday at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

Ivan Mayanja, Marvin Oshaba, and Brian Nkuubi were on target for the hosts, while Deus Bukenya scored the consolation goal for Police FC.

Maroons made a bright start, taking the lead through Marvin Oshaba in the 12th minute before Ivan Mayanja doubled the advantage five minutes later to put the hosts firmly in control.

Police FC responded before halftime, with Deus Bukenya pulling one back to ensure Maroons took a narrow 2-1 lead into the break.

In the second half, the visitors pushed for an equaliser, but Maroons remained composed and extended their lead through Brian Nkuubi, who sealed the 3-1 victory.

The win sees Maroons avenge their 2-1 defeat to Police FC in the first leg earlier this season.

Maroons FC now sit ninth on the table with 33 points, while Police FC remain sixth with 41 points.

In their next fixtures, Maroons FC will visit URA FC, while Police FC will host UPDF FC.

At the same venue, She Maroons FC played out a 1-1 draw with Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC in a Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League match.
