Preview: Maroons Host Police Away from Home
Maroons FC will host Police FC at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, in Matchday 25 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
As earlier confirmed by this website, the fixture has been moved from Luzira due to the poor condition of the pitch. The club’s CEO, Rodrick Muhumuza, explained the reason for the venue change.
“The pitch hosted a pass-out ceremony for recruit warders and wardresses (intake 2025/26), and it is currently not in a condition suitable for matches. Therefore, we had to look for an alternative venue,” he said.
“We are only using Wankulukuku for this matchday, but we will host our next games in Luzira. The pitch will be in good condition and ready for use,” he added.

In the first-round meeting, Police FC defeated ten-man Maroons FC 2-1, with Bedia Ikamba scoring a brace, while Rogers Kiwanuka netted a consolation goal. Norman Odipio was sent off after receiving a second yellow card in that match.
Last season, Maroons FC secured a 1-0 home victory over Police FC, courtesy of a decisive goal from Ivan Mayanja.
Police FC come into this fixture in good form, having secured two consecutive 2-1 victories, both achieved through comebacks.
Maroons FC, on the other hand, are winless in their last two league matches, having lost 1-0 to NEC FC before coming from behind to draw 2-2 with Mbarara City in their most recent outing.
A win for Maroons FC would take them to 33 points, though they would remain in ninth position. Victory for Police FC would see them move level on points (44) with fifth-placed NEC FC, although NEC would still have the advantage on head-to-head record.
Stats – All Competitions (10 games)
Police FC – 4 wins
Maroons FC – 3 wins
Draws – 3
Prediction: Maroons FC 2-2 Police FC
