BUL FC 0-1 NEC

Maroons FC shared the spoils with URA FC on Tuesday evening in Matchday 26 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

In an end-to-end encounter played under the floodlights at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, Maroons took the lead twice, but URA FC came from behind on both occasions to secure a 2-2 draw.

In the 22nd minute, Ivan Mayanja put the visitors ahead with a well-taken header from Brian Nkuubi’s free kick.

Three minutes later, the hosts responded through Bruno Bunyaga, who equalised from Disan Galiwango’s cross as the teams went into halftime level.

Just three minutes into the second half, Niwamanya nearly restored Maroons’ lead, but Ronald Otti cleared the ball off the goal line.

At the hour mark, Darius Ojok scored a thunderous strike to put Maroons back in front in his first appearance of the season.

However, minutes later, he was substituted for Rogers Kiwanuka as the club managed his return from injury.

Former Maroons striker Fred Amaku equalised for URA FC with 20 minutes remaining, ensuring both sides settled for a draw—just like in the first leg, which ended goalless.

URA FC remain winless in their last six league matches, with Mbalangu’s side sitting 11th on the table with 25 points.

Maroons move to eighth place with 34 points, level with BUL FC on points and head-to-head, but with a superior goal difference.

In their next fixtures, Maroons will visit KCCA FC on May 7, while URA FC will travel to Kitende to face Vipers SC the following day.

Matchday 26 continues on Wednesday with four matches: Vipers SC visit KCCA FC, Police FC host UPDF FC, Lugazi travel to Hoima to face Buhimba, while Entebbe UPPC host Calvary in Bugonga.
