Steven Mugunchi scored twice as Entebbe UPPC FC registered a convincing 3-0 victory over Uganda Police FC in a match played on Friday evening, October 9, 2026, at Hamz Stadium.

Mugunchi was the star of the show, scoring a goal in each half before second-half substitute Ambrose Kigozi added a late third to seal all three points for the Entebbe-based side.

The hosts made a flying start, with Mugunchi opening the scoring just three minutes into the game. The forward rose to meet a brilliant cross from Gift Odongo, heading the ball home to give Entebbe UPPC an early advantage.

Entebbe UPPC continued to pile pressure on the visitors, creating several scoring opportunities but failing to capitalise on some of their chances.

In the 26th minute, Odongo delivered another excellent cross from the right flank, picking out Mugunchi, who once again rose highest to head home and double the hosts’ lead before the break.

Police FC’s task became even more difficult when left-back Richard Matovu was sent off by the centre referee following a foul on an Entebbe UPPC player, leaving the visitors with ten men.

Despite their numerical advantage, Entebbe UPPC continued to squander several opportunities in the second half, allowing Police FC to stay in contention for much of the remaining period.

However, the hosts eventually sealed the victory late in the game when substitute Ambrose Kigozi latched onto a well-weighted pass from an Entebbe UPPC midfielder before calmly chipping the ball over the Police FC goalkeeper to make it 3-0.

The victory marked Entebbe UPPC FC’s third win of the campaign, lifting them to fourth place on the league table with 10 points from five matches.

Entebbe UPPC FC will face URA FC in their next fixture, while Police FC are scheduled to take on SC Villa as both sides turn their attention to their upcoming league assignments.
