Netball Super League Returns with New Regulations and Guidelines

The 2026 Netball Super League season will officially kick off on May 23, it has been confirmed.

The development was announced during a meeting held on Monday at the federation headquarters in Lugogo by the Uganda Netball Federation.

According to the federation, the men’s league and the second division will also commence on the same date as the Netball Super League.

The federation further clarified that no player will be eligible to feature in more than one division during the same season, a move aimed at maintaining competitiveness and fairness across all leagues.

Clubs have been given until May 7 to complete the registration of their players ahead of the new campaign.

In terms of participation fees, Super League teams will be required to pay one million shillings, while second division teams will pay seven hundred thousand shillings. All teams must have paid at least 50 percent of the required fees before the start of the season.

Several venues have been proposed to host matches, including Busia Greater Lions, Kibiga, Police, UCU, Buddo Secondary School, Weyonje, UPDF, and KCCA. These facilities are subject to final inspection and approval by the federation.

In the previous season, KCCA Netball Club emerged champions after defeating Prisons Netball Club in the finale.
