Express FC defeated Buhimba United Saints 2-0 away from home in the Uganda Premier League on Friday in Hoima.
Marvin Wambuga and Marvin Nyanzi each scored in the second half to help the Red Eagles return to winning ways after four matches without victory.
Express FC thought they had taken the lead midway through the opening half when Kenneth Kimera headed home, but the goal was ruled out for offside as both teams went into the break level.
The visitors eventually broke the deadlock 15 minutes into the second half through Wambuga, who finished off a cross from defender Douglas Rwotngeyo.
Thirteen minutes later, Nyanzi doubled Express FC’s advantage after being set up by an unselfish pass from Kenneth Kimera.
Express FC comfortably defended their lead for the remainder of the match to secure all three points on the road.
The victory also completed a league double for the Red Eagles over Buhimba United Saints this season, having won the reverse fixture 3-1.
Express FC move to 10th place on the league table with 33 points, while Buhimba United Saints remain rooted at the bottom with 15 points, six points adrift of safety with three matches left to play.
Elsewhere, SC Villa and BUL FC played out a goalless draw at Wankulukuku, while Vipers SC host URA FC later this evening at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
