OFFICIAL: KCCA Unveil Midfielder Yunus Sibira
Uganda Premier League giants KCCA FC have officially unveiled defensive midfielder Yunus Sibira following his transfer from Kitara FC.
Sports Light Uganda exclusively reported the deal earlier this week, and the club confirmed the signing on Wednesday, July 8, through its official social media platforms.
Sibira becomes KCCA’s fourth signing of the current transfer window after Elvis Ngonde, Charles Lwanga, and Maxwell Owachgi. The club has also retained defender Hassan Muhamud, who recently signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2027.
The industrious midfielder arrives as a replacement for Joel Sserunjogi, who recently completed a move to Vipers SC.
Sibira enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 campaign with Kitara FC, featuring in 29 of the club’s 30 Uganda Premier League matches.
He scored two goals and provided one assist during the season. He also helped Kitara FC win the 2025-26 Stanbic Uganda Cup title.
Renowned for his tireless work rate, composure in possession, ability to dictate the tempo of play, interceptions, aerial strength, and accurate passing, Sibira is expected to add quality and balance to KCCA’s midfield.
Before joining KCCA, Sibira featured for Kitara FC, Buhimba Saints United, Mbarara City FC, and Gaddafi FC, among other clubs.
The Kasasiro Boys continue to strengthen their squad as they seek to challenge for major honours next season and bring an end to their eight-year trophy drought.
