OFFICIAL: URA FC Appoint Jimmy Kintu as Head Coach
Uganda Premier League side URA FC have officially appointed Jimmy Kintu as the club’s new head coach ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The Tax Collectors confirmed the appointment through their official social media platforms, announcing that Kintu has signed a two-year contract.
The club also appointed Godfrey Magoba as first assistant coach on a two-year deal.
Both Kintu and Magoba join URA FC from Express FC, where they served during the 2025-26 season.
Kintu replaces Hussein Mbalangu, who parted ways with the club following the conclusion of the 2025-26 campaign.
Both Kintu and Magoba hold CAF A Coaching Licences, making them eligible to serve as head coaches of any Uganda Premier League club in accordance with FUFA regulations.

Kintu is widely recognised for his emphasis on talent development and possession-based football, a philosophy he has previously implemented at Nairobi City, St. Noa Girls, Uganda Christian University (UCU), among other clubs.
Magoba is also renowned for his attacking, possession-oriented style of play, having previously coached UCU Lady Cardinals, She Maroons, and other sides.
During the 2025-26 season, the duo guided Express FC to a 10th-place finish in the Uganda Premier League.
However, based on second-round performances alone, the Red Eagles ranked seventh, highlighting the significant improvement made under their guidance.
URA FC finished 11th in the league standings last season, and the newly appointed technical team will be expected to steer the club back into contention for major honours.
The 2026-27 Uganda Premier League season is scheduled to kick off on August 28, with the fixtures expected to be released a month earlier.
