OFFICIAL: Vipers Unveil Congolese Defender Mangoba
Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have officially unveiled Congolese defender Jacques Mangoba as their latest signing ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The Kitende-based club confirmed the acquisition through its official social media platforms, with Mangoba becoming the second player to be unveiled during the current transfer window after midfielder Joel Sserunjogi.
The 25-year-old brings versatility to the Venoms’ backline, with the ability to play both as a central defender and as a right-back.
Mangoba developed through the youth ranks in the Democratic Republic of Congo and, although he is yet to earn a senior international cap, he arrives with valuable experience from club football across Africa.
He has previously featured for AS Vita Club, Sagrada Esperança of Angola and AS Simba Kamikaze.
At Vipers SC, Mangoba is expected to compete for a place in the starting lineup alongside Kevin Dasylva, Hillary Mukundane and Rogers Torach as the club strengthens its squad for a demanding campaign.
The Venoms are set to compete in six competitions during the 2026/27 season, including the CAF Champions League, CECAFA Kagame Club Cup, FUFA Super 8, FUFA Super Cup, Uganda Premier League and Stanbic Uganda Cup, making squad depth a key priority.
Earlier this week, Vipers SC also appointed experienced French tactician Denis Lavagne as their new head coach on a two-year contract.
The eight-time Uganda Premier League champions are expected to make further additions to their squad, with both local and international signings anticipated before the transfer window closes.
