Young Africans 3-0 Singida Black Stars

Ugandan midfielder Allan Okello scored a brace as Young Africans S.C. defeated Singida Black Stars 3-0 in the NBC Premier League on Friday.

Okello opened the scoring in the 15th minute to give Young Africans an early lead before fellow Ugandan midfielder Mudathir Yahya doubled the advantage to hand the hosts a comfortable first-half cushion.

In the second half, Okello grabbed his second goal of the game in the 70th minute to seal an emphatic victory for Young Africans.

With 14 minutes left to play, Okello was substituted and replaced by Emmanuel Manengo.

The victory moved Young Africans to the top of the table with 57 points, two ahead of rivals Simba S.C. with six matches remaining.

The defeat leaves Khalid Aucho’s Singida Black Stars in fourth place with 38 points.

Okello’s brace took his tally to seven goals in his last four matches for Young Africans.

He previously scored braces against Dodoma Jiji and Coastal Union, as well as a goal against KMC.

His impressive form continues to fuel reports linking him with a possible move to Fenerbahçe at the end of the season.

Young Africans will next face Namungo FC as they continue their push for the league title.
