SAD NEWS: Former She Corporate Captain Cissy Nantongo Passes Away

Former She Corporate FC captain Cissy Nantongo has passed away, on Wednesday evening, June 3.

Reliable sources indicate that Nantongo succumbed to cancer at Mulago National Referral Hospital.

CLUB STATEMENT

“With profound sadness, we mourn the passing of our beloved player, Cissy Nantongo. Your strength, passion, and spirit will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Kajoozi.”

She Corporate FC confirmed that Nantongo’s body is currently at her parents’ home in Mulago, Kafeero Zone, next to GetWell Pharmacy, where a vigil is being held.

According to the club, burial will take place on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM at her ancestral home in Kibanga, Nabisanga Village, Mpigi District. The route is via the Kubikondo branch off.

Nantongo enjoyed a successful career in Ugandan women’s football and was part of the She Corporate FC team that won the 2021/22 FUFA Women Super League title.

In 2024, she captained She Corporate FC to the FUFA Women Elite League title, helping the club secure promotion back to the top flight. She also played a key role as the club lifted the 2024 FUFA Women’s Cup.

Earlier in her career, Nantongo was a member of the Olila High School WFC squad that won the inaugural FUFA Women’s Cup in 2017.
