SC Villa Open Talks to Sign Prolific Striker

Uganda Premier League giants SC Villa have opened talks to sign Calvary FC striker Lawrence Olaboro ahead of the 2026/27 season, according to reports from Swift Sports.

Olaboro impressed despite Calvary’s relegation from the Uganda Premier League, scoring eight goals and registering one assist during the 2025-26 campaign.

The prolific forward finished the season just one goal behind SC Villa’s leading scorer, Frank Ssebuufu, who netted nine times.

With Charles Lwanga’s contract having expired and the striker expected to leave the club, SC Villa have identified Olaboro as a potential replacement to strengthen their attacking department.

The Jogoos are expected to be active in the transfer market as they seek to assemble a squad capable of competing for major honours next season.

Meanwhile, Elvis Ngonde and Brady Wokorach are also reportedly among the players expected to leave the club during the ongoing transfer window.

SC Villa concluded the 2025-26 Uganda Premier League season in third place and narrowly missed out on Uganda Cup glory after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Kitara FC in the final.

The club’s management is now focused on reinforcing the squad as preparations for the new campaign gather momentum.
