Sebwalunyo, Ekau Headline Fortebet Real Stars April Awards
The best athletes across various disciplines were recognised at the Fortebet Real Stars Monthly Awards for April.
The awards ceremony, held on Tuesday at Nanjing Restaurant, saw NEC FC goalkeeper Hannington Sebwalunyo and Rezlife’s Edrine Ekau emerge among the standout winners.
Sebwalunyo beat off competition from Maroons playmaker Ivan Mayanja and SC Villa striker Frank Ssebuufu to claim the football accolade.
He scored two goals, against URA FC and Mbarara City, and kept five clean sheets during the period under review.
In the basketball category, Edrine Ekau of Rezlife overcame Tracy Namugose of KCCA Leopards and Fayeed Baale of City Oilers to secure the award.
Ekau averaged 20 points per game in April, including a player-of-the-match performance in Rezlife’s victory over City Oilers.
Meanwhile, in rugby, Alex Aturinda of Pirates was named the best performer, beating Daniel Otim of Buffaloes and Proscovia Mukyala to the accolade.
The event was attended by representatives from the sponsors, including Jude Colour Solutions and Fortebet.
The Fortebet Real Stars Awards recognise outstanding athletes across different sports disciplines on a monthly basis.
