Two Regional Clubs Join Race for SC Villa Target
Uganda Premier League record champions SC Villa could face stiff competition in their pursuit of Kitara FC midfielder Hussein Ssenoga Grace, with Rwanda’s Police FC and Kenyan giants AFC Leopards entering the race for his signature.
Ssenoga has emerged as one of the most sought-after midfielders.
This website understands that both Police FC of and AFC Leopards have expressed interest in the midfielder and are monitoring his situation ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
The development comes as a potential setback for SC Villa, who have already identified Ssenoga as one of their priority transfer targets as they seek to strengthen their squad for the 2026/27 season.
The midfielder still has one year remaining on his contract with Kitara FC, meaning interested clubs will have to negotiate with the Hoima-based side should they wish to secure his services.
Known for his tireless work rate, ball-winning ability, interceptions, accurate long-range passing, and versatility, Ssenoga is viewed by SC Villa as a possible replacement for Diego Ssemugera, who is expected to leave the club.
The anticipated departure of Elvis Ngonde, who is reportedly close to joining KCCA FC, has further increased Villa’s urgency to reinforce their midfield department.
However, the entry of AFC Leopards and Police FC could complicate matters for the Jogoos, especially if the regional clubs present more attractive financial packages and opportunities.
Ssenoga has previously featured for Free Stars FC, Express FC, Lugazi FC, and Kitara FC, establishing himself as one of the most reliable midfielders in Ugandan football.
