Union Sports Club Thrash Legends and Stars as Tik Tok FC Entertain in Hamz Cup

Union Sports Club became the 13th team to qualify for the round of 16 in the 2026 Hamz Cup after a convincing 5-0 victory over Legends and Stars, while Tik Tok FC entertained the crowd with a 3-0 win over Pirates FC.

In the opening game on August 15, Godwin Kawagga scored twice for the Boda Boda men, with his second goal coming in the 84th minute after he had opened the scoring early in the first half.

Ayub Mutalya added another goal in the 17th minute, while Isac Kyeyune Haaji and Davis Atukunzire both converted penalties in the second half to complete the emphatic victory.

The result took Union Sports Club to six points, leaving their qualification hopes dependent on the outcome of the final group match.

The awaited moment arrived in style as Tik Tok FC put on an entertaining display, defeating Pirates FC 3-0.

Tik Tok FC started the game strongly, applying pressure on Pirates FC through both flanks. Farouk Tumwesigye and Aksam Miod provided width, while Athuma Lule, who stepped up in the absence of Ashiraf Kyakuwa, attacked through the middle of the pitch.

Pirates FC regained their composure and attempted to fight for control of the game, but the intelligent play from the Tik Tok FC defensive block, led by young defender Elijah and Muktari Mutyaba, allowed the Tik Tokers to maintain control.

The breakthrough came in the 40th minute when the silky winger Tumwesigye headed home from Aksam Miod’s corner to give Tik Tok FC the lead at half-time.

Seven minutes into the second half, Tik Tok FC doubled their advantage. From a direct corner taken by Rogers Mutaawe, Pirates FC goalkeeper Isac Dei made an error and pushed the ball into his own net.

Captain Ssebamba Salabwe, popularly known as Mickey, then sealed the victory with a fine finish to make it 3-0.

With the game effectively settled, the final stages provided plenty of entertainment for the fans. Tik Tok FC showcased their flair and playful skills, while Pirates FC made only a few attempts to penetrate the attacking third.

Uganda U17 international Adrian Mukwanga also had moments to showcase his presence during the closing stages.

Having already qualified for the next round before the game, Tik Tok FC completed a perfect group-stage campaign, joining Arsenal Fans UG and Kafumbe United as the teams to have recorded maximum points so far.
