VIDEO: Okello Produces Brilliant Assist as Young Africans Defeat M/Makumbi
Ugandan midfielder Allan Okello continues to establish himself as a key player for Young Africans SC following another impressive performance.
Okello provided an assist as Young Africans defeated M/Makumbi 4-0 in the Muungano Cup on Tuesday evening.
The breakthrough came in the 17th minute when Prince Dube scored the opening goal from Okelloβs well-weighted pass.
The playmaker delivered a precise through ball into the box, which Dube calmly chipped over the goalkeeper to give his side the lead.
Frank Assinki doubled the advantage in the 34th minute, with Shekhan Khamis providing the assist.
Four minutes later, Khamis got on the scoresheet himself to make it 3-0. Dube then completed his brace later in the match, finishing off an assist from Edmund to seal a comprehensive 4-0 victory.
Okello has been in outstanding form, contributing one goal and six assists in his last four matches across all competitions, directly involved in seven goals during that period.
In the league, Young Africans sit at the top of the table with 47 points, five ahead of rivals Simba SC.
Their next league fixture will see them face Simba SC on May 3 in the highly anticipated Kariakoo Derby, a match that presents Okello with a significant opportunity to further endear himself to the clubβs supporters.
The 25-year-old playmaker, who joined Young Africans from Vipers SC in January, has quickly adapted to his new environment.
Despite spending only four months at the club, his creativity, work rate, and understanding with teammates underline his growing influence and quality.
