Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have officially unveiled midfielder Joel Sserunjogi as their first signing of the 2026/27 primary transfer window joining the club on a three-year employment contract.
The Venoms confirmed the acquisition through their official social media platforms on Wednesday, July 1, the day the transfer window officially opened.
Sserunjogi joins Vipers as a free agent following the expiry of his three-year contract with Uganda Premier League rivals KCCA FC.
The midfielder becomes the first player officially unveiled by the Venoms during the current transfer window as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.
The 24-year old talented midfielder replaces Taddeo Lwanga who has already left the Venoms for Kenyan side AFC Leopards.
Earlier this week, Vipers SC appointed experienced French tactician Denis Lavagne as their new head coach on a two-year contract.
The box-to-box midfielder, has already earned some caps at the senior footall national team, the Uganda Cranes and he played a big role as the Cranes reached the quarterfinals of the 2024 CHAN.
In 2023, Sserunjogi guided Busiro to its maiden Buganda Masaza Cup triumph before he made a move to KCCA FC where he established himself as one of the best midfielders in the league for the past three seasons.
He has previously played for Katera High School, St Julian, Buddu Ssaza, Kajjansi United, Busiro Ssaza, and KCCA FC.
The Kitende-based club is also reportedly set to complete the signing of defender Nicholas Mwere from BUL FC on a three-year deal, although the move is yet to be officially confirmed.
