Vipers Confirm Departure of Eight-Title Winning Defender

Vipers SC have confirmed the departure of defender Livingstone Mulondo after a trophy-laden seven-year spell at the club, during which he won eight major titles.

The club announced the news on Friday, July 10, following the expiry of Mulondo’s contract with the Venoms.

Mulondo leaves St. Mary’s Stadium having won five Uganda Premier League titles and three Uganda Cup trophies, making him one of the most decorated players in the club’s history.

He becomes the fifth player to officially leave Vipers during the current transfer window, following the departures of Taddeo Lwanga, Bashir Ssekagya, Grant Matsiko, and Alfred Mudekereza.

In a farewell message, Vipers thanked the defender for his outstanding service to the club.

After seven seasons with the club, Livingstone Mulondo, popularly known as C4, departs. He was an important member of both our double title-winning squads, contributing to one of the most successful periods in the club’s history.

His commitment, reliability, and professionalism have been greatly valued throughout his time at St. Mary’s Stadium, and he leaves with the appreciation and respect of everyone associated with the club.

Mulondo enjoyed an outstanding 2024-25 campaign, playing a key role as Vipers secured both the Uganda Premier League and Uganda Cup titles.

He finished as the joint top scorer in the Uganda Cup, scored in the final against KCCA FC, and was named the competition’s Best Defender.

However, the 29-year-old endured an injury-hit 2025-26 season, making only four league appearances, although he still collected another Uganda Premier League winners’ medal with the Kitende-based side.

Across seven seasons with the Venoms, Mulondo scored 12 goals in all competitions, with several proving decisive in important matches.

He leaves Vipers as one of the most successful players in the club’s history, having played a significant role during one of the club’s greatest eras.

Vipers are expected to announce more departures and new signings as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026-27 season.
