Vipers Confirm Departure of Goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza

Uganda Premier League reigning champions Vipers SC have confirmed the departure of goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza following the expiry of his contract after four successful years at the club.

The Congolese shot-stopper leaves the Venoms having won three Uganda Premier League titles and two Stanbic Uganda Cup trophies during his time at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

In a statement released by the club, Vipers paid tribute to the goalkeeper for his service.

“Thank you, Asante sana, Mude!

Vipers SC can confirm that goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza has left the club.

We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Mudekereza for his contribution over four seasons and wish him the very best for the future.

A huge personality both on and off the pitch, the Congolese has been a valued member of the squad and will no doubt be missed.”

Mudekereza’s departure leaves Vipers with a gap in the goalkeeping department, and the club is expected to sign at least one experienced goalkeeper before the start of the new season.

He joins a growing list of departures from the Kitende-based side, including goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya, Grant Matsiko, and Taddeo Lwanga, who have all officially left the club.

More departures are expected as Vipers continue reshaping their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.
