Vipers Confirm Three-Week Break After Title-Winning Season

Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have officially confirmed a three-week holiday for the players and technical team following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.

After successfully defending their Uganda Premier League title, the Venoms will take a break before returning for pre-season preparations on June 27 ahead of the new campaign.

While most members of the squad have begun their holiday, three players โ€” Hilary Mukundane, Karim Watambala, and Usama Arafat โ€” are currently away on international duty with the Uganda Cranes.

The trio is part of the national team squad preparing for two international friendly matches against Tanzania and Madagascar, scheduled for June 5 and June 8 respectively in Marrakech, Morocco.

Confirming the break through the club’s official social media platforms, Vipers stated:

“Wishing all our players and technical team a safe and joyful holiday season as we OFFICIALLY break off!

A break of three weeks and we will be right back at it for the new 2026/27 season, with pre-season training starting on Saturday, June 27, 2026.”

Several Vipers players have already begun community outreach activities during the off-season.

Defender Rogers Torach, who recently won the Uganda Premier League Goal of the Season award, donated more than 100 Vipers jerseys and footballs to communities in Mayuge.

Meanwhile, experienced striker Yunus Sentamu is also expected to conduct a community give-back initiative in Kasese later this week.

The 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season is scheduled to kick off on August 28, with fixtures set to be released a month earlier.

As reigning champions, Vipers will be aiming to win a third consecutive league title while also preparing for a return to continental football in the CAF Champions League.
