Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have made it clear that striker Kenneth Kimera is not for sale, Sports Light Uganda understands.
According to reliable sources, several Uganda Premier League clubs, including SC Villa, NEC FC, and KCCA FC, have expressed interest in signing the forward, while Express FC are reportedly keen on extending his stay following a successful loan spell.
However, Vipers are determined to retain the striker ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Kimera joined the Venoms from Wakiso Giants in 2024 and remains under contract at Kitende until the end of the 2026/27 campaign.
In his debut season with Vipers, the striker made 19 league appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist as the club won the Uganda Premier League title.
During the 2025/26 season, Kimera featured in only two league matches before joining Express FC on loan in February 2026.
The move proved beneficial, with the forward enjoying a productive spell at the Red Eagles.
He made 12 league appearances for Express, scoring five goals, and added two more goals in the Stanbic Uganda Cup to finish the campaign strongly.
Sources further indicate that Vipers could allow players such as Arnest Ankunda and Isaac Ogwang to leave during the current transfer window, but Kimera remains part of the club’s plans for next season.
The Venoms have already informed Livingstone Mulondo, Mark Yallah, and Robin Kane that they will not continue with the club as preparations for a major squad overhaul gather pace.
Vipers are expected to be active in the transfer market as they strengthen their squad for a demanding 2026/27 season that will include domestic competitions as well as CAF Champions League football.
