Vipers Sign Nigerian Defender as Torach’s Replacement

Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have signed Nigerian defender Princewill Biweribo Tarabina.

The defender was officially unveiled on Wednesday morning as the latest addition to the Venoms’ squad.

“Bolstering the central defence. Welcome to Vipers SC, Princewill Biweribo Tarabina,” the club confirmed in a statement.

Tarabina arrives as a direct replacement for Rogers Torach, who recently left Vipers to join Algerian side CS Constantine.

At Vipers, the Nigerian defender joins several new arrivals, including midfielder Joel Serunjogi, Farouk Miya, Nicholas Mwere, Jacquese Mangoba, Cesar Manzoki and goalkeeper Loyce Mbaba.

The Venoms are under the stewardship of new head coach Denis Lavagne, who is preparing the team for a busy campaign.

During the ongoing transfer window, Vipers have also parted ways with several players, including Tadeo Lwanga, Livingston Mulondo, Nicholas Wadada, goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya and Torach, among others.

Vipers’ first competitive test will come in the Super Cup against Kitara FC on Saturday, August 22, at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.

The club will then turn its attention to a demanding season that will also see them compete in continental football.
