Wanyama, Mukwhana and Chagamo Headline Individual Awards at 2026 USSSA Boys’ Football Championship

The 2026 USSSA Boys’ Football Championship concluded on Tuesday, May 19, with Amus College winning their maiden title as outstanding players were recognised with individual awards.

Bukedea Comprehensive striker Simon Wanyama was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament following his impressive performances throughout the competition, where he also scored six goals.

St Peter’s College Tororo forward Mathew Ethan Mukwahana won the Golden Boot award after finishing as the tournament’s top scorer with 12 goals.

Amus College goalkeeper Usama Chagamo was named the Best Goalkeeper of the tournament after a series of outstanding displays.

Chagamo kept clean sheets from the Round of 16 up to the final and played a crucial role in Amus College’s title-winning campaign, including saving several penalties during the knockout stages.

He also produced a number of important saves in the final to help his side secure victory and claim the Golden Glove award.

Amus College won the championship after defeating fellow Teso region side Bukedea Comprehensive 1-0 in the final.

John Brian Otim scored a stunning first-half free-kick that proved enough to hand Amus College a historic maiden USSSA boys’ football title.

Meanwhile, St Mary’s Kitende defeated Kyadondo SS 3-0 in the third-place playoff to secure the bronze medal.

Champions Amus College, runners-up Bukedea Comprehensive, bronze medalists St Mary’s Kitende, and semifinalists Kyadondo SS will all represent Uganda at the FEASSA Games later this year.
