Nabbumba Extends Contract at FC Midtjylland

Phiona Nabbumba has extended her contract with FC Midtjylland Women untill 2028, the club has confirmed.

The calm and composed Crested Cranes midfielder joined FC Midtjylland in January 2025 from B93 Copenhagen Women, a club she joined in 2023 after leaving She Corporate FC.

Speaking after signing her new contract, Nabbumba expressed her happiness about continuing her stay at the Danish club.

“It’s really great to be part of FC Midtjylland. I feel incredibly at home at the club. The players, staff, and fans are fantastic people, and I have developed a lot during my time here, both on and off the pitch. I’m happy about the extension, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together,” said Phiona Nabbumba.

She also spoke about her ambitions with the club in the coming seasons.

“We have gained more attention after the promotion to the A-League and the quarterfinal run in the cup competition. My goal for the coming seasons is to help the team fight for medals and qualification for one of the European tournaments. It would be a dream come true for me if we qualify for one of them. I also hope I can continue developing and become one of the best players in the A-League,” she added.

Nabbumba has featured in 31 of the club’s 33 matches since joining FC Midtjylland Women.

The 25-year-old remains a key member of the Uganda women’s national football team and has represented the country in major competitions, including the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and finals.

She was also part of the squad that won Uganda’s maiden CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship title in 2022.
