SC Villa produced a commanding performance to thrash Police FC 6-1 at Kira Road Police Ground in Kamwokya on Wednesday, October 14, with five different players finding the net to send the record Uganda Premier League champions to the top of the table.

Forward Frank Ssebuufu scored twice, while Ibrahim Kasinde, John Asiimwe, Patrick Kakande and Jonathan Sousa each added a goal. Bedia Ikamba scored Police FC’s consolation.

The emphatic victory saw SC Villa return to winning ways following a 1-1 draw against Kataka FC in Bukedea. The Jogoos now lead the league standings with 14 points from six matches, maintaining their unbeaten start to the campaign.

For Police FC, the defeat marked their third consecutive league loss. They had previously fallen 2-0 to Lugazi FC and 3-0 to Entebbe UPPC FC before Wednesday’s 6-1 humiliation.

The Cops have now conceded 11 goals across their last three matches while scoring just once, highlighting their struggles at both ends of the pitch.

SC Villa will return to action on October 22 when they host Mbarara City at Wankulukuku, marking their first home fixture at the venue in more than a month.

Their last match at Wankulukuku was played before the international break, when they defeated Kigezi Homeboyz 3-0 on September 15.

Police FC, meanwhile, will travel to Kitende to face Vipers SC on October 23 as they seek to bounce back from their recent run of defeats.

Before that encounter, Vipers SC will be in action on Thursday, October 15, travelling to Bukedea to face Kataka FC in a match scheduled to kick off at 4:00 PM.

Thursday will also feature a double-header at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo War Memorial. Express FC will host UPDF FC at 4:00 PM, before URA FC take on Entebbe UPPC FC at 7:00 PM.
