Tooro Queens FC Targets FUFA Women Super League Return as Elite League Kicks Off

Tooro Queens FC will begin its quest for a return to the FUFA Women Super League on Sunday, October 18, when it takes on Buhesi She Valley in its opening fixture of the FUFA Women Elite League at Mukabura Playground, with kick-off scheduled for 2:00 PM.

The Tooro-based side is entering the new campaign with ambitions of securing promotion to the top flight of women’s football in Uganda. The club has called upon its fans and supporters to turn up in large numbers and rally behind the team as it embarks on the journey.

Tooro Queens will compete in the Western Group, where they are expected to face stiff competition from teams including Boni Consilii, She Kasese and Kitara Queens, among others, as they battle for a place in the Women Super League.

In preparation for the new season, the club has strengthened its squad with three new additions. Racheal Kansiime, formerly of She Geme, joins alongside Priscillar Ahaisibwe from Burahya Doves and Grace Ainebyona from Bishop Comboni.

The new signings are expected to provide additional options for the technical team as Tooro Queens seeks to build a competitive squad capable of challenging for promotion.

On the technical bench, Ayesiga Rogers returns as head coach after taking a season off last campaign. His return is a significant boost for the club, given his experience of more than 10 years in women’s football and his familiarity with Tooro Queens.

Rogers will be supported by Kasaija Hossam, Karugaba Tonny and Nyamutale Sadam, who form part of the club’s technical team ahead of the new campaign.

With fresh additions to the squad and an experienced coach back in charge, Tooro Queens will be eager to make a positive start against Buhesi She Valley and lay an early foundation for their promotion ambitions.

The club’s immediate focus will be on Sunday’s encounter, where home support could prove valuable as the team begins its pursuit of a return to the FUFA Women Super League.
