Ugandan teenage sensation James Bogere made his senior debut for AGF Aarhus on Friday in their 1-1 draw against Nordsjælland.
Bogere, who joined the Danish side earlier this year alongside his El Cambio Academy teammate Hamza Ssengooba, came on in the 83rd minute. He replaced Tobias Bech, having been an unused substitute in the previous match on Monday.
At the time of his introduction, AGF Aarhus were trailing 1-0 following Juho Lähteenmäki’s first-half goal for Nordsjælland.
However, the hosts responded almost immediately, with Frederik Tingager scoring the equaliser just a minute after Bogere came on to ensure his side earned a point.
The result means AGF Aarhus remain top of the table with 50 points, four ahead of Midtjylland as the league approaches its final phase.
The top six teams will advance to the playoffs, where they will compete in a home-and-away format for the league title.
Bogere is widely regarded as one of Uganda’s most promising young talents, and his steady progress continues to underline his potential.
Last year, he captained the Uganda U-17 national team, the Cubs, to the FIFA U-17 World Cup, where they reached the Round of 16.
He later earned a call-up to the Uganda Cranes squad for the 2025 AFCON, where he made appearances, including against Tanzania, and won a penalty that was ultimately missed by Allan Okello.
