Key Players Out as Kampala Queens Name Travelling Squad Ahead of Lady Doves Clash
Kampala Queens FC have named their travelling squad ahead of their Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League encounter against Lady Doves this Saturday in Masindi.
The squad comprises two goalkeepers, eight defenders, five midfielders, and three forwards, making a total of 18 players available for selection.
However, several key players have been left out of the travelling squad.
Among them are the club’s top scorer, Catherine Nagadya (10 goals), and team captain Shakirah Nankwanga.
Defender Patience Nabulobi and forward Kamiyat Naigaga have also been omitted.
These players were involved in the team’s recent 2-0 defeat to Amus FC.
Goalkeeper Sharifah Namutebi, who recently featured in Teen Cranes victory against Zimbabwe, sustained an injury in the same match and has not travelled with the team.
Teenager Peace Muduwa, who was recently called up to the Uganda U20 women’s national team (Queen Cranes) ahead of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers against Ghana, has been included in the travelling squad. She is expected to return to the national team camp after the match.
The club’s media officer, Joel Kivumbi, confirmed that the players left out failed late fitness tests.

Kampala Queens FC are already mathematically out of the title race and will not defend their crown this season.
For Lady Doves, it has also been a challenging campaign, although they are safe from relegation, with Olila High School WFC and Asubo Ladies already confirmed relegated.
Kampala Queens sit third on the table with 32 points, while Lady Doves are 10th with 19 points from 19 matches.
In the first-round meeting, Kampala Queens defeated Lady Doves 3-0, courtesy of a brace from Catherine Nagadya and a goal from Joanitah Ainembabazi.
Last season, Kampala Queens secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Lady Doves in Masindi.
Historically, Kampala Queens have dominated this fixture, winning seven and drawing two of their last nine meetings against Lady Doves.
