Ugandan international Allan Okello scored a brace against Dodoma Jiji FC on Wednesday in front of scouts from Turkish giants Fenerbahçe, who are monitoring him ahead of a possible transfer move.

The Uganda Cranes star netted twice in the first half, but his side Young Africans suffered a 3-2 defeat in the NBC Premier League clash.

Fenerbahçe scouts were in attendance to continue assessing Okello as interest in the attacking midfielder grows ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

According to reports, Young Africans could receive up to USD 3 million if the Turkish side complete the signing of the Ugandan star.

Okello opened the scoring just two minutes into the match to give Young Africans an early lead and send the travelling fans into celebration.

Dodoma Jiji FC later equalised through Bakari Mwamnyeto before Okello restored Young Africans’ advantage three minutes before halftime with a well-taken finish from Maxi Nzengeli’s assist.

However, the hosts completed a dramatic comeback in the second half, with Kibuta Mwana and Waziri Junior scoring late goals to hand Dodoma Jiji FC a crucial victory over the league leaders.

Okello has now scored six goals and registered five assists in 17 league appearances for Young Africans this season.

The left-footed attacker has also been directly involved in 14 goals in his last 10 matches across all competitions, scoring six goals and providing eight assists.

Despite the defeat, Young Africans remain top of the table with 54 points and will next host Singida Black Stars in their upcoming NBC Premier League fixture.
