Rwandan giants APR FC are set to part ways with Uganda Cranes forward Denis Omedi, this website understands.
According to reliable sources, Omedi has already been informed internally that he is not part of the club’s plans for the upcoming season.
The forward is expected to depart alongside Gilbert Mugisha, Jean Pierre Ishimwe, and Ramadhan Niyibizi.
However, fellow Ugandans Hakim Kiwanuka and Ronald Ssekiganda remain in APR FC’s plans and are expected to stay at the club.
Omedi joined APR FC at the beginning of 2025 from Kitara FC following an outstanding spell that elevated his profile on both the domestic and international stage.
One of the highlights of his career came when his rabona goal against KCCA FC in the FUFA Super 8 tournament earned a nomination for the FIFA Puskás Award.

The forward also won the 2024 FUFA Men’s Player of the Year award and was named the LFA Best Male Footballer of the Year.
During his time at Kitara FC, Omedi played a key role in the club’s historic triumph in the 2024 Stanbic Uganda Cup. Since joining APR FC, he has added a Rwandan league title and several domestic cup honours to his trophy collection.
The 32-year-old has also represented the Uganda Cranes at international level, earning several caps for the national team.
He notably scored Uganda’s first goal at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, finding the net against Tunisia during the group stage.
Known for his humble personality and work ethic, Omedi has previously featured for Booma FC, Kitara FC, and APR FC during his professional career.
