Following an 8-0 defeat to Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC on Saturday, Asubo Ladies have been relegated from the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League to the second tier.
Before the fixture, Asubo Ladies were 12 points adrift of safety, and with five games remaining, they still had a mathematical chance to avoid relegation.
However, the heavy loss to Kawempe, coupled with Lady Doves’ draw against Makerere University, left Asubo with only five points compared to Lady Doves’ 18 points with four games remaining, confirming Asubo’s relegation.
Even if Asubo were to win all their remaining four games, they would reach just 17 points, still short of Lady Doves’ 18 points, making survival impossible.

The team now joins Olila HS WFC as the two sides mathematically relegated this season.
Asubo Ladies have also set several unwanted records this season. They have conceded 57 goals, the highest in Women Super League history, and with four games still to play, this figure could rise further.
The team previously suffered the league’s heaviest defeat, an 8-0 loss to Kampala Queens on matchday 13. Saturday’s 8-0 loss to Kawempe marks the first time a team has conceded eight goals in two different matches in a single season.
Asubo have yet to win a game this campaign and have gone 11 matches without scoring, the longest goalless run of any team this season.
Asubo Ladies will visit Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Women FC in their next league match on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
