Magoola Completes Move to Durban City FC After Paperwork Delay

Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Salim Jamal Magoola has officially completed his move to South African side Durban City FC.

Magoola joins Durban City FC from Richards Bay FC, whom he left at the end of the 2025-26 season.

The 31-year-old shot-stopper agreed to join Durban City in July, but paperwork delayed the completion of his transfer until October.

Following the retirement of goalkeepers Ayanda Mtshali and Darren Keet, the newly promoted side has brought in Magoola to strengthen its goalkeeping department.

Durban City, who won the Nedbank Cup, are also preparing for the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup, where they will face AS Port Louis.

Magoola brings valuable experience in South African football, having made more than 80 appearances for Richards Bay FC. He also previously featured for Pretoria Callies.

With Uganda set to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Magoola will be hoping to remain in contention for a place in the Uganda Cranes squad for the continental showpiece.

The experienced goalkeeper has previously played for Express FC, KCCA FC and Al Merrikh SC, among other clubs.
