BREAKING: Kampala Queens Outclass Kawempe to Win Maiden FUFA Women’s Cup Title

Kampala Queens have defeated Kawempe Muslim 2-0 to win their first ever FUFA Women’s Cup title.

In a game played at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba Kamiyat Naigaga and Joanitah Ainembabazi scored a goal each to win historic FUFA Women’s Cup title.

In what was a closely contested end-to-end encounter, Kawempe Muslim conceded seven minutes before halftime.

In-form forward Joanitah Ainembabazi opened the scoring for Kampala Queens with a well-taken volley after goalkeeper Saidat Namwanje’s save inside the box was not properly cleared by the Kawempe defence.

In the second half, Kawempe Muslim adopted a more attacking approach, with Agnes Nabukenya pushing further forward while Zainah Namboozo replaced Docus Kisakye. The tactical adjustment created several dangerous moments for the Valley Warriors.

However, Kampala Queens remained compact defensively and successfully protected their lead. Latifah Nakasi and Agnes Nabukenya both had opportunities to level the score but failed to capitalize due to a lack of composure in front of goal.

Kampala Queens were forced into a change when right-back Catherine Wujja suffered an injury and was replaced by Moureen Kimono.

However, Kimono also struggled and was substituted a few minutes later, with Patience Nabulobi coming on in her place.

Following the change, Nabulobi operated in a defensive midfield role while Shakirah Nankwanga shifted to right-back.

Deep into stoppage time, Kamiyat Naigaga latched onto a long ball that beat the last defender, Aminah Nakato. The forward calmly rounded goalkeeper Saidat Namwanje, who had rushed off her line, before slotting the ball into an empty net to seal a 2-0 victory for Kampala Queens.

Despite allowing Kawempe Muslim to enjoy more possession, Kampala Queens remained disciplined, executed their game plan effectively, and made the most of their opportunities.

Their tactical approach proved decisive as they outclassed their opponents when it mattered most.

Having fallen short in their bid to retain the league title, the Queens of Soccer can now celebrate winning the FUFA Women’s Cup, the first major trophy in the club’s history.

Kawempe lose back to back to final and fail to win a double as the wait for the FUFA Women’s Cup title continues.

Joanitah Ainembabazi finished as the tournament’s joint top scorer alongside Dream Girls striker Halima Mupyanga. Ainembabazi was also named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament.

Kampala Queens goalkeeper Sharon Kaidu Norah won the Golden Glove award, while her teammate Shamusa Najjuma was named Best Midfielder.

Kawempe Muslim defender Samalie Nakacwa was recognized as the Best Defender of the tournament.
