BREAKING: KCCA Complete Signing of Elvis Ngonde From SC Villa

Uganda Premier League giants KCCA FC have officially confirmed the signing of midfielder Elvis Ngonde from rivals SC Villa on a three-year employment contract.

The club announced the acquisition through their official social media platforms, welcoming the midfielder to Lugogo.

Earlier this month, this website exclusively revealed that Ngonde was on the verge of joining KCCA FC, and the move has now been made official.

The calm and composed midfielder joins KCCA as a free agent after the expiry of his contract with SC Villa, having opted not to renew his stay with the record league champions.

Last season, Ngonde made 18 Uganda Premier League appearances for SC Villa, with the majority of them coming off the bench. The 24-year-old sought a move in search of more regular playing time.

With midfielders Joel Sserunjogi and Brian Ijara reportedly left KCCA FC for Vipers SC and a move to Europe respectively, Ngonde is expected to have a strong chance of becoming a regular starter for the Kasasiro Boys.

KCCA FC finished second in the Uganda Premier League last season and reached the quarterfinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup. The club will be aiming to challenge for silverware in the upcoming campaign.

Ngonde is a graduate of St. Mary’s Secondary School, Kitende, where he scored in the 2022 USSSA Boys’ Football Championship final as Kitende defeated St. Andrew Kaggwa, Gombe to lift the title.

The midfielder has also earned a senior cap for the Uganda Cranes and was part of Uganda’s squad at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), where the team reached the quarterfinals for the first time in the competition’s history.
