CAF Unveils U-17 AFCON Fixtures, Boosts Fan Engagement Experience

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the fixtures for the TotalEnergies CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations 2026.

The championship will take place in Morocco from 13 May to 2 June, with 16 countries participating.

The final draw was held earlier this month in Cairo, producing a competitive group-stage lineup.

Hosts and defending champions Morocco were drawn in Group A alongside Tunisia, Egypt, and Ethiopia.

Uganda, who qualified for their first-ever FIFA U-17 World Cup through this tournament, were placed in Group B alongside Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, and DR Congo.

Group A: Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Ethiopia
Group B: Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Uganda, DR Congo
Group C: Mali, Angola, Tanzania, Mozambique
Group D: Senegal, South Africa, Algeria, Ghana

All matches will be played at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, a national football training and high-performance center in Maâmora, near Salé, Morocco. Opened in 2019, it serves as the main base for Morocco’s national teams and a flagship hub for African football development.

This approach is designed to create a vibrant tournament atmosphere while enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring consistency in delivery, and supporting long-term player development across multiple editions.

The opening match, semi-finals, third-place play-off, and final will be played at the main stadium.

The eight quarter-finalists will automatically qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026, while the teams finishing third in their groups will contest two play-off matches to determine the final two qualification spots.

A total of 10 African nations will once again represent the continent at the global finals in Qatar later that year.
