FUFA Confirms Match Officials for Historic Women’s Cup Final

Sunday, June 21
Kawempe Muslim vs Kampala Queens, 3:00 PM – FUFA Stadium, Kadiba

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed the match officials who will take charge of the 2026 FUFA Women’s Cup final between Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC and Kampala Queens FC at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba.

FIFA referee Shamirah Nabadda has been appointed as the centre referee for the highly anticipated encounter.

She will be assisted by fellow FIFA referees Elizabeth Nassolo and Lydia Nantabo Wanyama, while Josephine Nantongo will serve as the fourth official.

Rahman Kizito has been appointed as the referee assessor, with Joan Nakambugu taking on the role of general coordinator.

Interestingly, Nabadda also officiated the 2024/25 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women’s Super League fixture in which Kampala Queens secured a commanding 4-1 away victory over Kawempe Muslim.

The final presents a historic opportunity for both clubs, as neither side has ever lifted the FUFA Women’s Cup trophy.

Kampala Queens are appearing in their first-ever final and will be aiming to crown their impressive campaign with silverware.

Kawempe Muslim, meanwhile, are making a return to the final after finishing runners-up in the previous edition following a narrow defeat to Amus College.

The Valley Warriors will be without talented youngster Shadia Nabirye, who is currently in Tanzania representing the Teen Cranes at the ongoing CECAFA U17 Women’s Championship.

Kampala Queens will also miss a key player, with forward Peace Muduwa unavailable through suspension after being sent off in the second leg of the semifinal against Lady Doves.

FUFA has also confirmed that should the match end level after normal time, extra time will be played. If the teams remain tied after extra time, the winner will be determined through a penalty shootout.
