FUFA Extends Provisional Bans on Four Individuals in Match-Fixing Investigation
The FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Committee has extended the provisional bans imposed on Mike Mutyaba, Miiro Ashraf, Kalyowa Emmanuel, and Mbazira Ashraf by an additional 45 days as investigations into alleged match-fixing continue.
According to FUFA, the extension will take effect from June 13, 2026, and is related to ongoing investigations into the Uganda Premier League match between Kitara FC and Express FC played on December 21, 2024.
The decision was made under Article 78(3) of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code, which allows the committee to extend provisional sanctions while investigations are still underway.
FUFA stated that the additional period will enable investigators to continue gathering and reviewing evidence concerning the alleged manipulation of the match.
The four individuals have been formally notified of the extension and will remain suspended from all football-related activities until further notice.

The provisional bans were initially imposed as part of FUFA’s efforts to safeguard the integrity of the game while investigations into the matter continue.
FUFA has consistently reiterated its commitment to combating match-fixing and protecting the credibility of football competitions in Uganda.
The federation has also encouraged all stakeholders to remain vigilant and cooperate in the fight against match manipulation through its campaign message: “Recognise, Reject & Report.”
Investigations into the matter remain ongoing.
