Naava Reflects on Golden Glove Triumph After Outstanding FUFA Women Super League Season
Molly Naava emerged as the Best Goalkeeper of the 2025/26 FUFA Women Super League season following an outstanding campaign with She Corporate FC.
Naava won the Golden Glove after keeping 12 clean sheets in 19 league matches, registering one assist, and earning two Woman of the Match awards during the season. Her consistency, leadership, and commanding presence in goal made her one of the standout performers in the league.
The goalkeeper missed two matches following the red card she received during She Corporate FC’s 2-0 away defeat to Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC.
She also missed the home fixture against Olila High School WFC, where deputy goalkeeper Gift Nasasira featured between the posts.
Naava’s football journey has been defined by discipline, resilience, and steady growth. Having started out playing both basketball and football, she eventually chose the demanding role of goalkeeper, a position that requires bravery, concentration, and leadership.
Over the years, she has developed into one of the most reliable shot-stoppers in Ugandan women’s football. At She Corporate FC, her performances have improved season after season, earning her recognition among the country’s top goalkeepers.

Those close to her describe her as calm under pressure, hardworking, and always eager to improve. Her communication with defenders and ability to organise the backline have made her a key figure at the club.
Pain of Missing Out on the League Title
Despite her individual success, Naava admitted that missing out on the league title remains painful after She Corporate FC lost the championship race on the final day of the season.
“We went into the final game needing three points as a team, and personally I also needed a clean sheet to add to my tally. Unfortunately, we failed to get the win and did not score, which meant we lost the league title on the final day.
“It was a long journey from the first round because our mission was to win the league trophy and, for me personally, to also win the Golden Glove. In the end, only one target was achieved, and that was the Golden Glove,” Naava said.
She also reflected on the hard work put in by both the players and the club throughout the campaign.
“Losing the title was painful, especially considering the effort my teammates put in throughout the season and the support the club gave us. Everyone worked hard and deserved something from the season.”
Naava also pointed to the disappointment of missing matches because of suspension.
“Missing two games after my red card was difficult because I believe I could have added more clean sheets to my record. Still, I am grateful to finish as the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in the league.”
She added that the individual awards won by herself and striker Jesca Namanda, who claimed both the MVP and Golden Boot awards, were among the few positives from the season.

Golden Glove Dream Achieved
Winning the Golden Glove was one of Naava’s biggest personal targets at the start of the campaign.
“Every goalkeeper’s target is to win the Golden Glove in whichever competition they play. Winning this season’s Golden Glove was one of my biggest goals.
“I worked very hard for it individually while also fighting for the league title with the team. Winning this award makes me proud because it reflects the hard work, sacrifice, and effort I have put in throughout the season.
“It motivates me to keep pushing myself and to win even more Golden Gloves in the coming years,” she added.
Coach Mulindwa Praises Naava’s Discipline
She Corporate FC goalkeepers’ coach Isaac Mulindwa praised Naava’s mentality, discipline, and consistency throughout the season.
“Her composure under pressure is unmatched. I congratulate her for being exceptional and winning the Goalkeeper of the Season accolade in just her second season.
“Hard work and determination have always been my message to her, and they can take her to great heights. From eight clean sheets to 12 this season, she has truly been a rock for the team.
“Even when things got tough, she did not lose focus, and that is what sets her apart,” Mulindwa said.
Message to Young Goalkeepers
Naava also shared advice for young girls aspiring to become goalkeepers.
“Goalkeepers are built differently, and that is something special. Goalkeepers stay calm when everyone else on the pitch is panicking. One save in the final minutes can completely change the result of a game.
“Young goalkeepers should work on their footwork, positioning, and distribution because modern goalkeepers need to be comfortable with their feet just as much as with their hands.”
Focused on Improvement
Despite her achievements this season, Naava says she remains focused on improving her game even further.
“My future in football is all about improvement. Every season, I want to become better than I was in the previous one. I always want to see growth in my performances and continue developing my game.”
After a season filled with clean sheets, crucial saves, strong performances, and two Woman of the Match awards, Molly Naava’s Golden Glove triumph stands as recognition of both her quality and her growing importance in Ugandan women’s football.
