Kampala Queens FC secured a crucial 2-0 victory over Lady Doves FC on Saturday afternoon in the first leg of the 2026 FUFA Women’s Cup semi-finals.
Under the scorching sunshine at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, Kamiyat Naigaga and Joanita Ainembabazi found the back of the net to hand the Queens of Soccer a deserved first-leg advantage ahead of the return fixture.
Kampala Queens dominated large spells of the contest but had to wait until the closing stages of the first half to break the deadlock. Naigaga struck two minutes before halftime to give the hosts a deserved lead against a disciplined Lady Doves side.
The hosts continued to control proceedings after the break and doubled their advantage in the 47th minute through Ainembabazi, who put Kampala Queens firmly in command of the tie.

Kampala Queens made several attacking changes in search of more goals, but Lady Doves remained resilient and prevented the hosts from extending their lead further.
At full time, Kampala Queens emerged victorious and will now take a two-goal advantage into the return leg scheduled to be played in Masindi later this week.
The victory also extended Kampala Queens’ dominance over Lady Doves, marking their seventh consecutive win against the Believers in all competitions. It was, however, their first-ever victory over Lady Doves in a FUFA Women’s Cup fixture.
Earlier in the day, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC registered an impressive 3-0 away victory over defending champions Amus College WFC in the other semi-final. Latifah Nakasi scored a brace, while Jovia Nakagolo added the third goal for the Valley Warriors.
The winner on aggregate between Kampala Queens and Lady Doves will face either Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC or Amus College WFC in the final of the 2026 FUFA Women’s Cup.
