SC Villa Interested in Signing Former Express Midfielder

Uganda Premier League record champions SC Villa are interested in signing former Express FC midfielder Hussein Ssenoga Grace, this website understands.

Ssenoga has reportedly been included on SC Villa’s transfer shortlist as the club seeks to strengthen its squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The midfielder still has one year remaining on his contract with Kitara FC, but the Jogoos are keen on securing his services during the current transfer window.

Renowned for his work rate, ball-winning ability, interceptions, accurate long passes, and versatility in midfield, Ssenoga is viewed as a potential replacement for Diego Ssemugera, who is expected to leave the club.

SC Villa are also preparing for the departure of midfielder Elvis Ngonde, who is reportedly set to join KCCA FC. His exit could further increase the club’s need to reinforce the midfield department.

Ssenoga was part of Kitara FC squad that won the 2026 Uganda Cup title.

The midfielder has previously featured for Free Stars FC, Express FC, Lugazi FC, and Kitara FC during his career.

SC Villa endured a disappointing end to the 2025/26 season, losing to Kitara FC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup final and finishing third in the Uganda Premier League standings. As a result, the club ended the campaign without a major trophy.

With ambitions of challenging for silverware next season, SC Villa are expected to remain active in the transfer market as they seek to strengthen key areas of the squad.

The 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season is scheduled to kick off on August 28, with the official fixtures expected to be released a month earlier.
