Uganda Cranes have learned their opponents for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers following the official group stage draw held on Tuesday in Cairo, Egypt.
A total of 48 nations were drawn into 12 groups ahead of the qualification campaign for the AFCON 2027 tournament, which will be jointly hosted by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania under the “PAMOJA” banner.
Uganda, one of the co-host nations, were drawn in Group H alongside Tunisia, Libya, and Botswana.
Fellow co-host Tanzania were placed in Group L together with Nigeria, Madagascar, and Guinea-Bissau, while Kenya were drawn in Group D alongside South Africa, Guinea, and Eritrea.
Although the three East African nations have already secured automatic qualification for the final tournament as hosts, they will still participate in the qualifiers.

Defending champions Morocco were drawn in Group A with Gabon, Niger, and Lesotho.
Last year’s finalists Senegal will face Mozambique, Sudan, and Ethiopia in Group J, while record champions Egypt were placed in Group B alongside Angola, Malawi, and South Sudan.
The opening two matchdays of the qualifiers are scheduled to take place during the FIFA international window from September 21 to October 6, 2026.
Matchdays three and four will then be played between November 9 and 17, 2026, before the final two rounds are held from March 22 to 30, 2027.
The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations tournament will run from June 19 to July 17, 2027, across Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.
