Uganda Premier League Giants Table Bid for Playmaker Ibrahim Kasule
Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have opened talks with Uganda Cranes midfielder Ibrahim Owen Kasule over a potential move to Kitende, this website understands.
Kasule, who is currently on loan at CT United in MLS NEXT Pro from New York Red Bulls II, is reportedly open to a return to Uganda should the right agreement be reached.
Sources indicate that Vipers have offered the midfielder a two-year contract worth approximately UGX 140 million. However, the player’s representatives are understood to value him higher than the current offer.
Despite the difference in valuation, the eight-time Uganda Premier League champions remain determined to complete the transfer as they continue strengthening their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Following Allan Okello’s departure at the start of 2026, Karim Watambala excelled in the attacking midfield role and went on to win the Uganda Premier League Most Valuable Player award.
Nevertheless, Vipers believe Kasule possesses the qualities needed to further strengthen their creative department.
Widely regarded for his vision, creativity, precise passing, dribbling ability and eye for goal, Kasule has established himself as one of Uganda’s most talented attacking midfielders.
The Venoms have already unveiled Joel Sserunjogi, Nicholas Mwere and Jacques Mangoba during the current transfer window. The club has also appointed experienced French tactician Denis Lavagne as head coach ahead of the new campaign.
Vipers are aiming to assemble a formidable squad capable of competing for domestic honours as well as making a strong impression in continental competitions.
Kasule first rose to prominence in 2018 when he was named the Most Valuable Player of the Masaza Cup. A year later, he won the Most Valuable Player award in the University Football League.
In 2025, he helped New York Red Bulls II win the MLS NEXT Pro Cup before joining CT United on loan.
The midfielder has previously featured for Kampala Junior Team (KJT), Nansana United, Wakiso Giants, Buddu Ssaza and St. Lawrence University.
